Reiko Ono — Pianist, Composer

Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Reiko Ono began studying classical piano at an early age. By age fifteen, she had expanded her musical journey to include improvisation and arranging in a variety of genres, following her studies in electric organ. Her passion soon grew beyond classical music, embracing a wide spectrum of styles. She became a member of the Yamaha Ginza Electone Teacher’s Association and participated in competitions with her own original arrangements.

After moving to Los Angeles, she continued her studies at Pasadena City College, majoring in music and beginning to compose. She later graduated with a “Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance” from the “California Institute of the Arts (CalArts)”. At CalArts, in addition to classical piano, she studied harpsichord, contemporary music, jazz, gamelan, and composition—deepening her musical versatility and creative voice.

Today, Reiko Ono is an active composer, focusing on original works for piano. She previously served for over twenty years as a member of the “Music Teachers’ Association of California (Pasadena Branch)” but is now dedicated fully to composition.

Her debut album, “For a Walk”, is a musical sketch inspired by the beautiful landscapes of Europe. Each piece paints a scene through sound, blending elements of classical, impressionism, contemporary, and jazz.

Her second album, “For a Walk II”, continues this musical journey, expanding beyond Europe to include impressions of the United States and her home country, Japan. This collection weaves together Japanese, classical, contemporary, and jazz influences.

大野玲子 — ピアニスト、作曲家

東京に生まれ育ち、幼少よりクラシックピアノを学ぶ。15歳で即興演奏や編曲を学び始め、続いてエレクトーンも習得。クラシックにとどまらず、幅広いジャンルに興味を広げていった。ヤマハ銀座エレクトーン指導者協会に所属し、自作編曲でコンクールにも度々参加した。

渡米後はパサデナ市立大学で音楽を専攻し、作曲を始める。その後、カリフォルニア芸術大学（CalArts）ピアノ科を卒業。在学中はクラシックピアノに加え、チェンバロ、現代音楽、ジャズ、ガムランなどの民族音楽、そして作曲を幅広く学んだ。

現在は作曲家として精力的に活動している。これまで20年以上にわたり、カリフォルニア音楽教師協会（パサデナ支部)のメンバーとして音楽教育にも携わってきたが、現在は作曲活動に専念している。

ファーストアルバム 「For a Walk」 は、ヨーロッパの美しい風景にインスピレーションを受け、その情景を音楽で描いた作品。クラシック、印象派、コンテンポラリー、ジャズの要素を融合させている。

セカンドアルバム 「For a Walk II」では、ヨーロッパに加え、アメリカ、そして母国・日本をテーマに展開。和の要素を取り入れながら、クラシック、コンテンポラリー、ジャズを織り交ぜた音楽スケッチとなっている。
